Curious to know how many of you using this site are already taking some action towards sustainability? If so, what?

I have been working from home/remotely for over 2 years now, and most of the time it works really well. I sometimes need to go and see people in person, but in general by using online meetings etc I have more than halved the the number of trips by plane I used to make, and only using my car one tenth of what I used to!I don't think it would work for everyone all the time, but I can't see anything wrong with working from home part of the time for most people.

As a result of the two-day sustainability seminar we have:* Started recycling in the staffroom, for paper, plastic, tin, compost, and 'waste'. 75% of what was going into the 'waste' bin, is now recycled, by weight.* Composting is currently going home to someone's compost, but we're about to vote on worm farm, vs bokashi, vs giving to someone's hens, vs compost...* Extended cardboard and paper recycling in our warehouse/dispatch, and started plastics recycling. We have reduced by 92% our 'waste' (excluding cardboard) from our warehouse, by weight.* Staff have some great ideas as well: even suggesting an edible garden on our balcony.* I'm now looking at the bus timetables to try an initiative of bike/bus to work, even just one day a term, a month, a week to expose us all to the options of public transport. Thanks Karyn for helping get us started!
