I have received a number of enquiries from businesses who are considering switching to wood fired boilers, to avoid the ongoing costs of the ETS which we are seeing come through in lignite prices. However, most are reluctant to switch, because they are not sure if they will be able to source a supply of wood product. How big an issue is this for Southland businesses? Any thoughts?
